VOLVO,S XC60

Share
VOLVO,S new XC60 could repeat the success of its big brother, the XC90. The first thing you want to do in a Volvo XC60 T6 is to try and crash it. Because you know it is not going to happen, not at 50kmh or slower, anyway. The car is quipped with Volvo’s newest and coolest gadget: City Safety. The infrared based system brakes the car when it detests that the driver will not react in time to prevent colliding with the vehicle in front. The feature is meant only for city driving, as it cancels out when the car’s speed exceeds 50kmh. Which means you can probably use it on the Central Expressway during peak hours too

As of noon PST today, the inaugural Goin' for Broken 24 Hours of LeMons race at Reno-Fernley has been one of the cleanest events to date. Car-to-car contact has been kept to a minimum, penalties are normally for small infractions and the competitors haven't have been nearly as bitchy as in previous years. So after voting ended, there wasn't a clear winner/loser for People's Curse. Entries ranged from LeMons' founder Jay Lamm's Volvo wagon to... nobody. So the consensus was there was no consensus. With that, hit the jump to watch a video to see which iconic LeMons vehicle met its demise in the Nevada desert and check out our Twitter feed of the proceedings from the penalty box
